Bigrock Ski Resort

Established in the 1960’s, Bigrock is nestled on the western side of Mars Hill. Known as one of the largest ski resorts in the country, Bigrock offers a couple chairlifts, over twenty trails, and a  nearly 1000 foot vertical drop. As a family friendly resort, they offer many different private lessons, based off of your group size, that are reasonably priced. They also offer snow school programs and kids racing programs.  Whether you are four or sixty-four there is a slope and or program for you.

Accommodations

Bigrock Ski resort has many specials that run alongside hotel reservations.  Many of the local hotels and Inns in the area run a special that includes in their pricing a set of two lift tickets and two meal cards that are redeemable at Bigrock Ski Resort. Many other locations such as My Sunset Cabins, Blaine Country Cabins, and The Bear Claw Inn cater to these specials as well.

These rustic locations have spacious living arrangements that accommodate parties of four or more with many amenities such as Wi-Fi, DirecTV , full sized kitchens and much more. If a more modern feel is what you are looking for, Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center also has the two meal and ski lift tickets as well as a fitness center, nightclub, and fine dining. This area truly has accommodations for everyone.

There are many other attractions near Bigrock for you and your family to enjoy. Jordan Planetarium and Observatory, or bouncing on the indoor inflatables at Playland Adventures, there are fun and educational activities to be had by people of all ages.

Events at Bigrock

Bigrock is open to the public from December until April. Towards the end of the season they offer discounted prices during special events such as Slush Rush Weekend that includes music in the pub, cookouts and specials on drinks. If you are looking for a resort to go to during Easter break with your children, Bigrock is open. During this time they offer discounted admission tickets as well as discounted lift tickets. Also they run events like Wing Night as well as local music in the pub.
