Mt. Abram Lodging
Mt. Abram is a quaint family ski park that consists of two parts, a beginners side and a intermediate to expert side to ski on. With its smaller gauge vertical drop(just over one thousand feet) and five lifts, this is the perfect ski resort to start going to with your family. The park has ski lessons that for the most part take place on the beginners half of the park. If you are planning on bringing your children, they are sure to appreciate the Rocky and Bullwinkle themed trail names.
Lodging at the Resort
Due to Mt Abrams small size, there are not lodging opportunities other than rental homes that are within Mt Abram Village. These rental homes vary from day to day so it would be best to go through the local real estate agencies to see what is available before you go on vacation. Even though it is unfortunate that there are not many lodging options within the Mt. Abram resort, there are plenty of places to stay within a few miles.
Nearby Refuge
Staying outside of the resort you are visiting is not always a bad thing, it gives you the opportunity to explore and enjoy some of the area’s local charm. You have the ability to have an experience like no other when you stay in a Hotel, Inn, or Bed and Breakfast in the outskirts of the main attractions.
At the Mill Hill Inn Bed and Breakfast, you are close to Mt Abram as well as the area’s other popular ski resorts. This bed and breakfast is like no other, that it has its own Tapas Restaurant on site, as well as an in house bar with high quality liquors, and domestic and imported beer. This bed and breakfast is also known for its Sunday River Margarita Mix off where they received the People’s Choice Award in 2012 for its Maine Blueberry Margarita. The rooms in this B&B range from one queen size bed to rooms that can hold up to 5 people comfortably. All the rooms are decorated to create a homey atmosphere.
Located 5 miles from Sunday River Resort and 6 miles from Mt. Abram, The Norseman Inn and Motel resides. Finding a similar retreat would be a difficult task seeing as this Motel has 22 rooms and is made from a refurbished one hundred year old barn, which is bound to spark learning opportunities about the history of Bethel, Maine. The rooms in the motel side provide TV, free WiFi and a game room. The Inn portion of the Norseman is a well maintained 200 year old Inn that features 8 rooms. The rooms in the Inn portion do not have television sets, they believe that you should enjoy each others time instead.
Located less than fifteen minutes away from Mt. Abram, the Inn at the Rostay is an affordable lodging option. Each of their rooms have been designed to make you feel like you are in your home away from home. Televisions, wireless internet, and a video library with over 200 videos for your viewing pleasure are available. This inn offers what they call “Inntel” rooms as well as deluxe motel rooms and deluxe two bedroom suites. These rooms have the atmosphere of an inn with the privacy of a motel, and include amenities from those typical of those at home to suites equipped with full sized kitchens.
